Does dark mode save battery? Only at full brightness

Dark mode saves real battery only when your screen is bright.

On an OLED screen each pixel makes its own light, and a black pixel is simply off. Purdue researchers measured four phones: at full brightness dark mode saved 39 to 47% of battery power, at the 30 to 50% most people use, just 3 to 9%.
