Why real random looks rigged: streaks are normal

Flip a coin 100 times and you will almost certainly get six in a row.

People faking random switch sides too often, so real streaks look suspicious. The chance of a run of six or more in 100 fair flips is 80.7%. Shuffle a playlist of 5 artists with 4 songs each and 96% of truly random orders put one artist twice in a row, which is why Spotify spreads artists out instead.

Send it to whoever thinks their shuffle is broken.
